Ultimate 7 Day Kimberley Fishing & Eco-Adventure
Day 1: Broome - Buccaneer Archipelago
Our courtesy coach will pick you up from your accommodation at approximately 1500 and transfer you to our vessel ‘Aussie Warrior’ situated at Gantheaume Point Broome for a 1600 hrs departure. Enjoy a BBQ dinner and a refreshing beverage as we cruise overnight headed for the Buccaneer Archipelago. Your Kimberley fishing adventure has begun.
Day 2: Buccaneer Archipelago
Awake early in the morning as we steam past Cape Leveque and enter the 1000 islands of the Buccaneer Archipelago, we will head down into Strickland Bay for some exciting fishing action at the Graveyards. Later that afternoon we will cruise to the Kylyum River and take our tenders on an excursion up river to visit the Kylyum Falls. Tonight we will find a secluded bay to drop anchor and enjoy our days catch.
Day 3: Yampi Sound
Today we spend the day fishing and exploring Yampi Sound this area is abundant with iron ore deposits and we will get a closer look as we cruise past Cockatoo and Koolan Islands. Our first stop will be Crocodile Creek a beautiful waterfall and swimming hole. After lunch we will cruise up Silvergull Creek to Squatters Arms and visit a unique couple. Phil and Marion arrived at Silvergull Creek fifteen years ago and have set up camp you will be treated to some hand crafted jewelry and amazing Kimberley yarns. We will spend the afternoon searching for Humpback Whales and collecting blacklip oysters.
Day 4: Doubtful Bay, Raft Point
Awake in the morning in one of the most picturesque bays in the Kimberley. We take a guided walk up Raft Point to visit one of the best Wandjina aboriginal art sites in the Kimberley. We will then cruise across Doubtful Bay to Red Cone Creek and jump in the tenders for an excursion upstream to visit a real highlight Ruby Falls. Today we will also have the opportunity to drop in some pots to catch a Mud Crab or two.
Day: 5 Sale River
Another action packed day of adventure today as we take an excursion of a life time up the rugged narrow gorges of the Sale River. The river stretches for over twenty kilometers, once we reach the end we will be indulged by a topical paradise of freshwater pools surrounded by spectacular rainforest. The Sale River is an excellent area to spot both salt water and fresh water Crocodiles today we will also have the chance to flick a lure for the illusive Barramundi or Mangrove Jack.
Day 6: Montgomery Reef
Today we visit another Kimberley icon Montgomery Reef, Covering more than 300 square kilometers makes it the biggest inshore reef in Australia. We will cruise up a navigable channel within the reef and as the tide drops we will view an amazing spectacle as the water rushes off the reef creating a waterfall affect. This area is rich in marine life including turtles, manta rays and many species of sea birds.
Day 7: Talbot Bay, Horizontal Waterfalls
Today we will visit our last Kimberley highlight the Horizontal waterfalls the massive tidal range of the region creates a spectacular site as a huge volume of water pours through two narrow gaps in the land formation. We will board our tenders and take a close up and exhilarating ride through this natural wonder. Tonight we spent the last night onboard steaming back to Broome.
Day 8: Arrive Broome
We will arrive in Broome at approximately 0800 and have our last breakfast onboard before our courtesy coach transfers you to your accommodation.
